By Walt Grogan
The Marvel Family, and particularly, Captain Marvel, produced some offshoots (sometimes unwittingly) -- one of which was Marvelman, who begot Miracleman, and who begot Man of Miracles.
Man of Miracles is a character in Todd McFarlane's Spawn Universe. Man of Miracles is loosely based on the Miracleman character created by Alan Moore and Garry Leach (and shares the secret identity name of Mike Moran). Man of Miracles debuted in Spawn #150.
Although it was marketed as an action figure, the Man of Miracles is best described as a painted statue with a few points of articulation. The is limited neck movement, his wrists move and there is movement at the waist and that's it.

This mysterious being has come to offer Spawn guidance in his continuing battle against the forces of Light and Darkness. But what is he exactly, and what does he want with Spawn? After all, everyone wants something; everyone is working an angle, and so far in his journey through the afterlife, Spawn has learned that no one — regardless of appearance — is ever who they appear to be. Is the Man of Miracles truly an ally? Only time will tell. (First appearance: SPAWN #150/Image Comics hardcover)
Released: June 2006
Box
The box is a clear, sealed clamshell that must be cut open to release the action figure. My first instinct on this type of box is to prevent theft.

Figure and accessories
The figure is nicely painted and features a decorated leather jacket, blue jeans and boots. It's most distinctive feature is it's t-shirt. Based on the Quality Comics/Eclipse Comics depiction of Miracleman, the figure's t-shirt features Miracleman's distinctive red collar with yellow circles and his well-known double-M chest insignia.
Figure
As mentioned earlier, the figure is extremely limited in any type of posing. At best, his neck, wrists, and waist can be swiveled. In the front of figure view (seen below), the Miracleman Double-M chest insignia is clearly visible.
Height: 6.5"
Weight: 4.4 oz.
Articulation: 4 points (neck, wrists, and waist)

Head
The head of the figure is that of a young man and not that of Mike Moran (Miracleman). The figure's hair is a dishwater blonde unlike the packaging art and the character's depiction in Spawn #150.

Accessories
The figure comes with one accessory, a base for standing the figure. The base features a sundial design in gold and blue with pegs to insert the figures legs. Because the figure lacks movement in its legs, it is difficult to insert the pegs into the holes in its boots.
Weight: 1.4 oz
Diameter: 5.25"
Top
The top, as previously described, is a sundial and also features the Spawn logo in the center.

Walt says
For something described as an ultra-action figure, it leaves a lot to be desired. Because, even though it looks great, as an action figure, it's horrible. As a statue, it's not bad. I'm a big fan of Marvelman, so any offshoot is of interest.
